01

Getting started

HomeRound’s first release is planned for Android 10 and later. It does not require an account or sign-in. During setup, you choose relevant household areas, review suggested tasks, adjust the routine, set a daily task limit, and choose whether to allow one daily summary.

HomeRound provides general household-maintenance guidance. Always follow equipment manuals, manufacturer instructions, local rules, and qualified professional advice when they differ from general guidance.

02

Daily summary notifications

HomeRound schedules one private, normal-importance daily summary on your device. It does not send separate notifications for individual tasks. Android may delay an inexact notification because of battery optimization or other system conditions.

If the daily summary is not arriving

  1. Open HomeRound Settings and confirm Daily summary is on.
  2. Confirm the displayed summary time.
  3. Allow HomeRound notifications in Android system settings.
  4. Open HomeRound again after a device restart or timezone change.

The summary follows the phone’s current timezone. Household task dates follow the household timezone selected in HomeRound Settings.

03

Encrypted backup and restore

From Settings, choose Create encrypted backup, enter a password of at least ten characters, and choose where Android should save the .homeroundbackup file. Keep the password and file somewhere you can retrieve them later.

HomeRound Development cannot recover a forgotten backup password.The password is not stored by the app or sent to the developer.

To restore, choose Restore encrypted backup, select one HomeRound backup, enter its password, review the date and record counts, and confirm. Restore replaces current local HomeRound data; it does not merge two routines.

04

App lock

App lock is optional. When enabled, HomeRound asks Android to verify the device owner after the selected grace period and before protected backup, restore, or delete-all actions. Android may offer biometrics, PIN, pattern, or passcode according to device support and settings.

HomeRound does not receive or store biometric information or your device credential. If authentication is unavailable or canceled, the protected action does not continue.

05

Diagnostics

Settings → Diagnostics shows local technical status such as app and database versions, database health, notification state, and migration outcome. The rotating local event log is limited to seven days and 5 MB.

Choose Export diagnostics only when you want to create a readable JSON report. It is never uploaded automatically. Choose Delete diagnostics to remove the local diagnostic log.

Diagnostic reports are designed to omit task names, descriptions, passwords, paths, credentials, and biometric information. Do not send a report unless you intend to share it for troubleshooting.

06

Deleting local data

HomeRound provides several levels of local control:

  • clear completed and skipped history for one task;
  • permanently delete one recurring task and its history;
  • clear all completed and skipped history while keeping tasks;
  • delete the local diagnostic log; or
  • delete all local HomeRound data and return to first-run setup.

Delete all offers an encrypted backup first, but a backup is not required. Exported backup and diagnostic files are outside the app and must be deleted separately from wherever you saved them.
